The Muggle Review

Gameplay: 6 / 10 – This is the weakest point of the game and the only main downfall. We love the fact that they’ve built on the old system of gameplay. However, the major flaw of this game is that it is way too easy and way too short. No matter what level of “hardness” you put the game on it’s still way too easy.
However, just like those before it, the game will make you work for every inch. Your thumbs will get sore even before the first boss fight which is a huge plus. The game keeps with the old style fighting but mixes in some new weaponry and some new moves. We just wish they would have made the gameplay a little harder and a little longer.

Graphics: 9/10 – The graphics have improved immensely. The detail and colors are magnificent. There are a few sketchy spots here and there where the game tends to lag, but it’s minor and doesn’t affect the gameplay, it’s in the beginning with the cut scenes. The developers really did an amazing job of bringing the game’s graphics to the forefront and making the game visually stunning.

Controls:: 9 /10- Again they took the old, improved it and then added a little flare to the control system. Old fans of the game will be able to jump right in and hack n slash Demons with well earned muscle memory, while newer fans will be able to get the hang of the system with ease. Another huge plus for the game. There’s nothing worse than playing a game series and having to relearn a new control system. The controls in this one allow for quick weapon switches and style combos that come naturally, nothing too hard to memorize.

Multiplayer – Not Available

Online Play – Not available, except to to compare and submit scores to the “leaderboard”.

Overall: 8 / 10 – With it’s improved graphics, and dead on storyline DmC is a great game to play, but again is quick and easy. A huge plus is it’s familiar controls. Old time fans will get a kick out of seeing Dante and Virgil actually working together and finding out what happened between them in their younger years.
