Fixing Things, Recruiting People…Muggle Business

Written by Nik. Posted in Featured, News & Updates

Yes, we know we have been inactive as hell, and have been promising a return. We apologize for the extended multitude of delays. Life continues to get in the way. But we are working on back-end problems to ensure that our visitors are safe when they visit and interact on this site.
Also, we have run into a bit of a snag with content. We would like to expand to other fandoms, but need some fresh blood ideas from some new writers and creators. If you have a love of any fandom and wish to contribute either on a regular basis, or just once in awhile, please see the post below.

We will be posting sporadically here and there with things that pop into our twisted little minds. To keep tabs on us, follow us on Twitter. Keep checking back to see what we are up to!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Guest Writers Wanted!

Written by Jason. Posted in Featured, News & Updates

We are currently looking for few guest writers to feature here on Muggles Behaving Badly.net! Not just Fandom Contributors. Though, they are welcome too! We are looking to establish a regular writing team for the site, and we know you’re out there, just waiting for this opportunity, so here ya go!

First off: Sorry, we cannot pay you, but we can show off your work in our features section, and main sections of the site. We are in need of a few talented writers to fill out the following sections:

– Tales from the Bookcase
· Silly, but honest book reviews & shameless promotions of lesser known authors

– The Muggle Review
· Reviews of television, movies, games, and other odds and ends.

– Opinions and Such
· Just tell it like it is. Must be some sort of fandom related.

– Fandom Farce Writers
· Creative writers and fanfiction writers welcome! This portion is underdevelopment and we are in desperate need to get it started.

What We Want
· All writings must be well written, free of any sensitive materials, images, and done in good taste. We will not accept any forms of writing that bash or discriminate against anyone or anything. Political or Opinion writings must contain critical thinking and be well rounded to provide a particular point.

· We have a grammar Nazi on the team, so all writing must be free from major spelling or grammatical errors. Unless required for a creative writing / fanfiction piece.

· You will not be paid for your work! We are broke and can’t pay for your words, just offer a place to publish them.

· Regular contributors and writers may be asked to write fulltime, or given an elevated site account to publish work on a regular schedule.

· Not all writings will be featured on the main page of the site, but promoted in the Updates & Such area / sidebar.

· At anytime a writer becomes a Pre-Madonna or pain in the ass, we retain the right to remove all works from the site without notice.

· We do not offer copyright or trademarking for submitted work, and cannot accept any works that are copyrighted, trademarked or already solicited.

· Any work that is already solicited, we can review and promote at our discretion.

How to Become A Guest Writer
Simply email us at bad.muggle.staff(at)gmail.com with:

1. Your Name, Age (yes, we have to know), and Where in the word you reside.
2. Which area/areas and topics you would like to contribute to
3. A Sample of your work
4. How often you would like to contribute.

ConJuration 2016

Written by Nik. Posted in Featured, News & Updates, The Muggle Experience

Last year a friend of mine introduced me to a local convention in Atlanta, ConJuration. For those looking for a family orientated convention that celebrates magic and fantasy this is it. ConJuration is not only a Harry Potter convention, though many of the panels and events revolve around the boy wizard, it entails so, so, much more. This convention celebrates all things, (or as many as possible) magical; such as Supernatural, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and other magical literature and media. So for those with friends or family members who are just not that into the boy wizard there is something for everyone to enjoy!

The Springer Opera House Celebrates the Rocky Horror Picture Show

Written by Nik. Posted in Featured, News & Updates, The Muggle Experience

The Springer Opera House, located in Columbus Georgia, has been around since 1871. Yet, even many locals haven’t heard of this little gem in their own state. When I was a kid we took a tour of the Springer and learned about its rich history. Part of which includes the long line of historical figures to grace the stage over the years, such as Edwin Booth, yes, brother to that Booth, and how it was saved from demolition by a group of theater lovers in 1964. But what draws many people to the Springer these days is that it is considered one of the most haunted buildings in the country. Don’t believe me? Go take a tour, learn its history. Then show up early for a show and have a drink at the bar. I had to be re-directed by an usher back to the bar because I kept getting drawn and sidetracked down the hallway to a door leading off to the stairwell going towards the backstage area. Everytime I got close to that door, I got a tingling feeling in my gut, and had hair raising on the back of my neck.
